Hi, my name is

Luke Pritchard. I build healthcare systems.

I'm a senior software engineer based in Toronto with 6+ years of experience building secure, AI-enabled healthcare platforms across APIs, services, SDKs, and cloud infrastructure. Currently, I lead interoperability work and the SDK at Ada Health, connecting partner platforms, clinical workflows, and patient data handoffs.

About Me

Hello! I'm Luke, a senior software engineer based in Toronto. I've spent the last 6+ years shipping production healthcare and fintech software across APIs, services, product surfaces, and cloud infrastructure, with deep ownership from architecture all the way through to operations.

Today I work in healthcare interoperability. At Ada Health, I lead integrations that connect our core assessment product into government, insurance, pharma, and consumer healthcare workflows through the Web+Mobile SDK, client portals, SSO/OIDC, service-to-service callbacks, and FHIR handovers into patient health portals. My work spans secure API design, React and TypeScript clients, Kotlin/Spring services, MongoDB, Kubernetes, GCP, and production operations.

Before Ada, I worked on a secure Electron desktop app for incident response at Mobistream, built fintech flows at Nyble, and pioneered cryptocurrency-powered charitable donations at Synergenics. I studied Computer Engineering at McMaster University, where I researched societal trust in computer vision with a Vector Institute affiliate.

A few technologies I've been working with recently:

  • TypeScript / Node.js
  • Kotlin & Spring Boot
  • GraphQL / REST APIs
  • Kubernetes & GitOps
  • FHIR / SMART on FHIR
  • SSO / OAuth / OIDC

Where I've Worked & Studied

Senior Software Engineer

@ Ada Health

April 2022 - Present · Toronto, ON

  • Lead interoperability integrations for Ada's core assessment product across government, insurance, pharma, and consumer clients, embedding clinical workflows through the Web+Mobile SDK, client portals, SSO/OIDC, and FHIR handovers.
  • Own SDK and integration architecture across React/TypeScript clients, Kotlin/Spring Boot services, MongoDB data flows, Kubernetes workloads, and GCP production environments.
  • Maintain an iframe eventing library that standardizes secure communication between Assess, Connect, FHIR Reports, and partner platforms.
  • Design service-to-service integration patterns for real-time assessment updates, partner callbacks, and patient data handoffs, helping direct 18% of patients initially seeking emergency care to alternative care options.
  • Deliver SSO/OAuth 2.0/OIDC integrations and FHIR handover modules, including EPIC integrations, that route symptom-recommended next steps into patient health portals.
  • Architect GitOps-based configuration management for Kubernetes microservices, enabling client-specific feature toggles and reducing onboarding time from two sprints to about one week.
  • Support regulated interoperability needs across FHIR/SMART on FHIR, HIPAA-aligned workflows, secure partner environments, and production incident response.
